HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, St. Ann's Catholic School in Midland is celebrating |
|
|
its 75th anniversary in 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1950, St. Ann's Catholic School serves |
|
|
students in prekindergarten through the eighth grade; a faith-based |
|
|
coeducational institution, it offers a curriculum that includes |
|
|
language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, as well as |
|
|
enrichment in such areas as physical education, Spanish, music, and |
|
|
art; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Today, St. Ann's benefits from the able guidance of |
|
|
principal Tracy Owen, who attended and has taught at the school; |
|
|
other St. Ann's graduates have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, |
|
|
judges, and politicians, and the school also counts an Olympian |
|
|
among its alumni; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For three-quarters of a century, the faculty and |
|
|
staff of St. Ann's Catholic School have committed themselves to |
|
|
meeting the educational needs of their students, and the school has |
|
|
played a vital role in helping many young Texans build a bright and |
|
|
fulfilling future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|
|
2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of |
|
|
St. Ann's Catholic School and extend to all those associated with |
|
|
the institution sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives and Senate. |
