R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Richard L. Jankovsky III of Refugio is retiring from
  the Texas Department of Public Safety in 2025, drawing to a close an
  exceptional 23-year career with the agency; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Stockdale, Mr. Jankovsky served his
  country as a member of the United States Coast Guard; since joining
  DPS in 2002, his work has encompassed assignments in Los Fresnos,
  Laredo, Corpus Christi, Victoria, and Three Rivers, and he was
  promoted to his most recent rank, lieutenant, in 2010; and
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Jankovsky has contributed to numerous
  hurricane response operations, and he has also been deployed to
  assist in border security; among his proudest achievements was his
  seven years of service as president of the DPS Officers
  Association, where he had the honor of representing and advocating
  for its members during four legislative sessions; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Lieutenant Jankovsky has
  enjoyed the love and support of his wife of 25 years, Joann
  Jankovsky, and their children, Jeremy and Kaitlyn; he and his
  family have generously volunteered their time with Driscoll
  Children's Hospital, the St. Baldrick's Foundation, and other
  organizations to support childhood cancer research, and they have
  partnered with the Trinity Oaks Foundation to organize hunting
  trips for young patients as well as for those who have lost a parent
  in law enforcement; and
         WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and
  selfless dedication to protecting and serving the public, Richard
  Jankovsky has greatly benefited the citizens of the Lone Star
  State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent
  as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Richard
  L. Jankovsky III on his retirement from the Texas Department of
  Public Safety and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lieutenant Jankovsky as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
