R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Jane Marie Hunt of Dallas
  suffered a heartbreaking loss with the passing of this beloved
  young girl on July 4, 2025, at the age of nine; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on May 8, 2016, Janie Hunt was the
  cherished daughter of Davin and Anne Lindsey Hunt and the older
  sister of two siblings, Henry and Julia; she was further surrounded
  by the love of her adoring grandparents, aunts, uncles, and
  cousins, and she was known for inventing new traditions to share
  with her family during the holidays; and
         WHEREAS, Janie was a top student at The Day School at Highland
  Park Pres and Hyer Elementary School, where she excelled in
  mathematics and art and showcased her athletic talents on the
  basketball team; she dreamed of one day becoming a professional
  artist, and in addition to several other awards, she was proud that
  one of her works was the sole selection from her class for the
  Highland Park Independent School District 2025 Art Show; she also
  expressed herself by performing in ballet recitals, and she lit up
  the stage with her portrayal of Scuttle in a production of The
  Little Mermaid in 2024; moreover, she enjoyed being a member of the
  Girl Scouts, and she was looking forward to beginning training for
  tennis tournaments in the fall; and
         WHEREAS, Faith played a guiding role in Janie's life; she was
  baptized at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, where she grew up
  attending Sunday school and singing in the children's choir; she
  loved attending Bible study, and she demonstrated the strength of
  her beliefs by standing up for and showing kindness toward those who
  were vulnerable; generous and compassionate, she was eager to
  donate her clothes, books, and stuffed animals to children in need,
  and last year, she showed great initiative by forming a group called
  the Baker Girls to fundraise for her school; and
         WHEREAS, With a heart of gold and a spirit that shined, Janie
  Hunt brought joy to everyone around her, and this precious young
  girl will remain a source of inspiration for all who shared in the
  blessing of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Jane Marie Hunt and extend profound condolences to the members of
  her family: to her parents, Davin Patrick Hunt and Anne Lindsey
  Hunt; to her siblings, Henry and Julia Hunt; to her grandparents,
  Janet and S. Michael McColloch and Margaret and Douglas Hunt; to her
  aunts and uncles, Elizabeth and Taylor Hunt, Morgan and Casey Hunt,
  Chelsea and Austin Hunt, Ally McColloch and S. Michael McColloch
  Jr., Megan Hunt Carter and Joel Carter, and Catherine McColloch
  Bennett and Josh Bennett; to her 17 cousins; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Janie Hunt.
