R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot fully express the heartache felt by the |
|
|
family of twin sisters Hanna Rose Lawrence and Rebecca Mark |
|
|
Lawrence of Dallas, who tragically lost their lives on July 4, 2025, |
|
|
at the age of eight; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on March 17, 2017, Hanna and Rebecca were |
|
|
beloved by their parents, Lacy and John Lawrence, and their older |
|
|
sister, Harper, along with their extended family of grandparents, |
|
|
aunts, uncles, and cousins; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Though distinct in personality, the pair shared an |
|
|
unbreakable sisterly bond; they had recently completed the second |
|
|
grade at University Park Elementary School, where Hanna stood out |
|
|
among her classmates with her extroverted charm and her affinity |
|
|
for the spotlight; Hanna, who had entered the world just two minutes |
|
|
before her sister, was a go-getter and a leader by nature, and she |
|
|
formed friendships effortlessly wherever she went; she had a deeply |
|
|
caring heart, and she dreamed of one day opening a restaurant to |
|
|
serve people in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rebecca, the more reserved and soft-spoken of the |
|
|
twins, had a heartwarming smile that mirrored her kind and sweet |
|
|
nature; she adored animals, particularly big cats, and enjoyed |
|
|
expressing herself through fashion; like her sister, she was full |
|
|
of love, creativity, and warmth, and she hoped to some day become a |
|
|
teacher and follow in the footsteps of the wonderful educators in |
|
|
her life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although the passing of these two unique and |
|
|
spirited young girls brings immense sorrow, Hanna and Rebecca |
|
|
Lawrence touched the lives of many people during their time on this |
|
|
earth, and they leave behind a legacy that will never be forgotten; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
|
of Hanna Rose and Rebecca Mark Lawrence and extend heartfelt |
|
|
condolences to the members of their family: to their parents, Lacy |
|
|
and John Lawrence; to their older sister, Harper Lawrence; to their |
|
|
grandparents, Betty and John H. Martin and Roberta and David |
|
|
Lawrence; to their aunts and uncles, Meredith and Andreas Reshoft, |
|
|
David Lawrence III, Jennifer and Walter Prather, Amanda and Bailey |
|
|
Wood, and Dana Lawrence; to their cousins, Sasha, Skyler, |
|
|
Katharine, David, Julia, and Katherine; and to their other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for their family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hanna and |
|
|
Rebecca Lawrence. |
