R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot fully express the sorrow felt at the |
|
passing of Brooke Catherine Harber of Dallas, who was tragically |
|
lost during the July 2025 flooding in Kerr County along with her |
|
sister, Blair Harber, and her grandparents, Charlene and Mike |
|
Harber; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of RJ and Annie Harber, Brooke Harber |
|
was born on November 6, 2013, and she was 11 years old at the time of |
|
her passing; she shared a strong bond with her older sister, Blair; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A student at St. Rita Catholic School, Brooke had |
|
distinguished herself as an exemplary student and an accomplished |
|
athlete, playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse; she |
|
especially loved her speech and drama classes, and she had a special |
|
talent for improv comedy that could make a room erupt into laughter; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Brooke drew strength from her faith, and she took a |
|
deep interest in her religious studies at St. Rita; she is |
|
remembered for her friendliness, her energetic personality, and her |
|
fierce determination; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although her time on this earth was far too brief, |
|
Brooke Harber was a ray of light to those who held her dear, and they |
|
will never forget the abundant happiness that she brought into |
|
their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Brooke Catherine Harber and extend sincere condolences to the |
|
members of her family: to her parents, RJ and Annie Harber; to her |
|
aunt, Jennifer Harber; to her great-aunt, Lisa Cravotta King; to |
|
her great-uncles, Jimmy Cravotta and Greg Harber; and to her other |
|
relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Brooke |
|
Harber. |
