R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Antioch Georgetown is hosting a ground-breaking |
|
ceremony for its new church building on August 24, 2025; and |
|
WHEREAS, Organized in 2017, Antioch Georgetown held its first |
|
services at Carver Elementary School; three years later, the |
|
congregation moved to Brookwood in Georgetown's Amazing Grace |
|
Building, where attendance rapidly grew, staffing increased, and |
|
the church began offering additional programs and services; and |
|
WHEREAS, Today, Antioch Georgetown furthers its impact |
|
through partnerships with such organizations as Mission 4031, |
|
Helping Hands of Georgetown, Soul Survivor Outdoor, and Africa New |
|
Life; in addition, the members of the congregation have established |
|
a variety of small groups that foster fellowship and spiritual |
|
enrichment among attendees; the church is served by lead pastor |
|
Andy Comer, as well as a host of other leaders and clergy, including |
|
Stephen Castleberry, experience pastor, and Darrell Hudson, care |
|
pastor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since its founding, Antioch Georgetown has been a |
|
source of inspiration and guidance to its members, and the |
|
construction of a sanctuary will allow the church to serve the needs |
|
of even more congregants in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Antioch |
|
Georgetown on the ground-breaking of its new church building and |
|
extend to all those involved in bringing this project to fruition |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
