R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Pearson Elementary School in Mission is marking its
  70th anniversary with a celebration on September 6, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, One of the first five campuses established in the
  Mission Consolidated Independent School District, Pearson
  Elementary opened with 11 classrooms on September 6, 1955; the
  school is named for the late Lucille Pearson, a Mission High School
  graduate and education advocate whose tireless work left an
  indelible mark on the community; and
         WHEREAS, Today, principal Melissa E. Davis is at the helm of
  Pearson, which serves approximately 300 students in early education
  and kindergarten through fifth grade; under her able leadership,
  the school's faculty members have earned a reputation for fostering
  academic excellence while helping to close educational gaps and
  guiding the cognitive, social, emotional, and mental development of
  students; moreover, following its receipt of a Project Fit America
  grant from the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation, the campus
  launched a fitness program designed to inspire youth to lead active
  and healthy lifestyles; and
         WHEREAS, Standing as a reflection of Mission CISD's
  commitment to growth, innovation, and success, Pearson Elementary
  has long provided young Texans with a strong foundation on which to
  build, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in recognizing the school
  on this milestone occasion; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 70th
  anniversary of Pearson Elementary School and extend to all those
  associated with the campus sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
