R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life filled with joyful times and meaningful
  accomplishments drew to a close with the passing of Thomas Irving
  Hennigan of San Antonio on August 1, 2025, at the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Marguerite Thomas Belisle and Ray
  Hennigan, Tom Hennigan was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on
  August 21, 1941; his entrepreneurial spirit led him to a career in
  the real estate industry in partnership with his wife, Peggy
  Koesterman Hennigan; he opened a loan servicing company and became
  involved in investor education; as president of the New Orleans
  Real Estate Investor Group, he expanded membership from 35 to more
  than 800; traveling the country for seminars and conferences, he
  met with his counterparts and recognized the potential of a
  nationwide network; his organization hosted a meeting in New
  Orleans in 1985, and its success led the Hennigans to establish the
  conference that became the National Real Estate Investors
  Association; he served as president of the organization, which
  today has over 30,000 members; he also founded the San Antonio REIA;
  while pursuing a successful career as an investor, landlord, and
  rehabber, he was always happy to mentor others and share his
  encyclopedic knowledge of real estate; and
         WHEREAS, Tom and Peggy Hennigan were the proud parents of a
  son, Stephen, and their treasured family grew to include two
  granddaughters, Megan and Callie; the devoted couple shared a
  fulfilling 46-year relationship until Mrs. Hennigan's passing in
  2010; fortunate to find love a second time, Mr. Hennigan married
  the former Lucha Esquivel on February 4, 2013; among his favorite
  pastimes were visiting his beloved New Orleans, traveling the
  world, and cruising the Caribbean with his friends and the National
  REIA groups; outgoing and optimistic, he brightened the days of all
  he encountered with his warmth, kindness, and dry sense of humor;
  and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Tom Hennigan
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will forever hold a special
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Thomas Irving Hennigan and extend sincere sympathy to the
  members of his family: to his wife, Lucha Esquivel Hennigan; to his
  son, Stephen Hennigan, and his wife, Tracy; to his grandchildren,
  Megan and Callie Hennigan; to his sister, Judy Klopp; to his
  nephews, Joe, Jimmy, and Nicholas Impastato; to his stepchildren,
  Celeste Goshorn and Eric Mayworm; and to his many other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tom
  Hennigan.
