R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Tina Cannon is retiring as president and chief
  executive officer of the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce on
  September 12, 2025, drawing to a close more than a half decade of
  exemplary service to the chamber; and
         WHEREAS, A dedicated advocate for underrepresented
  communities, Ms. Cannon joined the Austin LGBT Chamber in May 2019,
  and under her able leadership, the chamber's membership has grown
  by over 500 percent; she also played an instrumental role in
  launching the Pride in Local Music Festival and expanding the
  annual Business of Pride Awards, and she led a number of
  high-profile intercity visits that amplified the voices of local
  LGBTQ+ businesses at the national and international levels; in
  addition, she oversaw the establishment of the Diversity & Ethnic
  Chamber Alliance, and she spearheaded the Regional Equity in
  Economic Development Plan, which promotes resilience, equity, and
  inclusive investment across Central Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Cannon has brought to her role a wealth of
  experience in public service; she previously served as a senior
  policy analyst for a member of the Austin City Council, and in 2017,
  she became the vice president of local government relations at the
  Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas State University, Ms. Cannon
  holds a degree in accounting, and she was formerly employed as an
  auditor; since 2008, she has pursued a number of entrepreneurial
  endeavors, and she has launched startups such as PetsMD and Napkin
  Venture; she has also served as the entrepreneur-in-residence for
  the Texas State University Applied Entrepreneurship Program; in
  2024, she cofounded PIX Sports Gear with her spouse, Christi
  Grider, and their business partner, Satish Kodukula; and
         WHEREAS, Through her vision, professionalism, and commitment
  to excellence, Tina Cannon has greatly benefited the LGBTQ+
  business community in Austin, and her contributions will continue
  to be appreciated for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Tina Cannon on
  her retirement as president and chief executive officer of the
  Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cannon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
