R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Linda Joyce Cox on July 21, 2025, at the age of 74; and
         WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Tilt," the former Linda
  Murphree was born to Dale Allen and Jimmy L.  Murphree in Jonesboro,
  Arkansas, on November 9, 1950, and she grew up with the
  companionship of two siblings, Nancy and Jim; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she benefited from the love
  and support of her husband, Lucky, and she took great pride in her
  children, Nick, Dawnn, and Dillon; over the years, she had the
  pleasure of welcoming into her family six grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A passionate community advocate, Mrs. Cox made a
  meaningful difference in the lives of countless children, families,
  and other individuals in need through her contributions to Tilt's
  Toy Run, Wishing on the Lone Star, and the Special Needs Prom; she
  also organized a number of other local events, and she helped
  collect and distribute donations for people experiencing
  homelessness; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Cox enjoyed traveling the open road on her
  Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and she shared lifelong bonds with a
  close-knit community of bikers; in addition, she operated a booth
  at the Texas State Fair; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for her creativity, kindness, and
  generosity, Linda Cox brightened the world for all who knew her, and
  she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Linda Joyce Cox and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Lucky Cox; to her children, Nick and his
  partner, Kim, Dawnn, and Dillon; to her sister, Nancy; to her
  nieces, Jennifer, Michelle, Rachael, and Heather; to her
  grandchildren, Haygen, Leeland, Whitten, Aubriella, Leo, and
  Joann; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Linda Cox.
