R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the passing of nine-year-old Molly Claire DeWitt of Houston, who
  was tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding in Kerr County;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Ryan and Elizabeth DeWitt, Molly
  DeWitt was born in Houston on June 10, 2016, and she was blessed
  with the companionship of a sister, Annie; her circle of love and
  support also included her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins;
  and
         WHEREAS, Molly was a creative young girl who delighted in
  drawing, dancing, and telling stories; insatiably curious, she was
  a voracious reader, and she was always eager to learn more about the
  world; she also enjoyed playing soccer with her friends; and
         WHEREAS, Known for her compassion, Molly was quick to extend
  kindness to those in need; she was also confident and unafraid to
  speak her mind, and her vivid blue-green eyes helped her to connect
  with those around her and to make them feel seen; her faith played a
  guiding role in her life, shaping her to love with sincerity,
  generosity, and grace beyond her years; and
         WHEREAS, Although her days were far too few, the joy and
  radiance with which Molly DeWitt lived her life will forever
  comfort and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Molly Claire DeWitt and extend deepest condolences to the
  members of her family:  to her parents, Ryan and Elizabeth DeWitt;
  to her sister, Annie DeWitt; to her grandparents, Chris and Mary
  Anne DeWitt and Max and Vicki Garrett; to her aunts and uncles, Sean
  and Trudy DeWitt, Brendan and Virginia DeWitt, Kevin and Natalie
  DeWitt, Tyler and Abby Garrett, and Charlotte Garrett; to her
  cousins, Reagan, Riley, Adelaide, McAllen, Henry, and Conor DeWitt
  and Audrey and Davis Garrett; and to her other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Molly
  DeWitt.
