R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the passing of Mary Kathryn Jacobe of Houston, who was tragically
  lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding in Kerr County at the age of
  eight; and
         WHEREAS, A fifth-generation Houstonian, Mary Kate was born to
  Samantha and Christopher Jacobe on October 27, 2016; she was best
  friends with her older brother, Russel, and she cherished her
  puppies, Rex and Pickles; the baby of the family, she was doted on
  by her grandparents, Russel and Brenda Jacobe and Richard and
  Kathryn Jordan, as well as by her aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
         WHEREAS, Mary Kate attended St. Martin's Episcopal Preschool
  and subsequently enrolled at The Fay School from kindergarten
  through second grade; possessing a confidence and wisdom beyond her
  years, she was a friend to all, and her loyalty and kindness knew no
  bounds; feisty and charming by equal measures, she possessed a
  determination that heralded a bright future, and her ever-evolving
  list of potential occupations included those of doctor, singer,
  actress, and artist; and
         WHEREAS, Although it is immeasurably painful to lose someone
  so young and full of promise, those left behind may find comfort in
  knowing that their lives have been forever enriched by the joyful
  times that they shared with this beloved child; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Mary Kathryn Jacobe and extend heartfelt condolences to the
  members of her family: to her parents, Samantha Jordan Jacobe and
  Christopher Craig Jacobe; to her brother, Russel Lee Jacobe; to her
  grandparents, Brenda Craig Jacobe and Richard Jordan; to her aunts
  and uncles, Dr. Russel Lee Jacobe III and his wife, Heidi, Michael
  Copeman Jacobe and his wife, Mindy, Janice Jacobe Davis and her
  husband, Clark, Jon Paul Jordan and his wife, Tamara, and Justin
  Jordan and his wife, Maggie; to her cousins, Peyton, Reid, Sydney,
  and Jack Jacobe, Jacobe, Clark, and Cornelia Davis, and J.P.,
  Kathryn, Josh, Lizzy, and Jaden Jordan; and to her other relatives
  and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Kate
  Jacobe.
