R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Margaret Gaffney Sheedy of Houston, who was
  tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding in Kerr County, at the
  age of eight, touched the hearts of innumerable people during her
  brief time on this earth; and
         WHEREAS, A native Houstonian, Margaret Sheedy was born on
  July 29, 2016, to Ellen and Andrew Sheedy, and she was blessed with
  the affection of two brothers, Charles and William; she shared
  close bonds with her family members, and her circle of loved ones
  included her grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, and
  cousins; and
         WHEREAS, Margaret was looking forward to beginning the third
  grade at the Kinkaid School, where her teachers admired her for
  being a helpful and hardworking student; she easily won over her
  classmates with her kind nature and her gift for making others feel
  included; and
         WHEREAS, The Sheedy family home was often filled with the
  sounds of Margaret dancing to music in her bedroom; she delighted in
  jumping on the trampoline, swinging, solving puzzles, and building
  Lego creations with her brothers, and she always made time for
  family movie nights, competitive games of Uno, and heartfelt
  discussions at the dinner table; she was also adored by her extended
  family, many of whom were present to witness her first Holy
  Communion at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Although the tragic passing of Margaret Sheedy has
  brought immeasurable sorrow, the memory of this precious young girl
  will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who loved and
  cherished her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Margaret Gaffney Sheedy and extend profound condolences to the
  members of her family: to her parents, Ellen and Andrew Sheedy; to
  her brothers, Charlie and William Sheedy; to her grandparents,
  Ellen and Charles Sheedy and Kay and Dan English; to her aunts and
  uncles, Elizabeth and Matt Johnson, Elizabeth and Patrick Sheedy,
  Colleen Sheedy, Laura and Michael Pipkin, Dianne and Dan English,
  and Tara and Spencer English; to her first cousins, Ryan, Cate, and
  Clare Johnson, Charlotte and Caroline Sheedy, Michael, Annie, and
  Lizzy Pipkin, Dan and Sarah English, and Mac, Thomas, and Elliott
  English; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Margaret
  Gaffney Sheedy.
