R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Lainey Anne Landry of Houston, who
  was tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding in Kerr County, at
  the age of nine, has brought an unimaginable loss to the many people
  who loved and cherished her; and
         WHEREAS, Born on March 30, 2016, Lainey Landry was the
  daughter of devoted parents Natalie and Ben Landry, and her
  treasured family included her two brothers, Daniel and Luke, as
  well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins; a
  kind-hearted and spirited young girl, she loved baking muffins with
  her grandmother, bonding with her grandparents over card games, and
  caring for the family pets, Lila, Yawyaw, and Doc; she brightened
  the days of everyone around her with her beautiful smile, her sense
  of humor, and her gift for making others feel special; and
         WHEREAS, A student at St. Michael Catholic School, Lainey
  showed off her talents on the school's basketball court and also
  enjoyed playing soccer and participating in Girl Scouts; she
  expressed her growing faith as a member of St. Theresa Catholic
  Church alongside her family, and her receipt of her first Holy
  Communion in May marked a significant step in her spiritual
  journey; and
         WHEREAS, Lainey Landry was a ray of light in the lives of all
  those who held her dear, and although her passing has brought
  tremendous sorrow, her legacy of love will never be forgotten; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Lainey Anne Landry and extend heartfelt condolences to the
  members of her family: to her parents, Natalie and Ben Landry; to
  her brothers, Daniel Timothy and Luke Joseph Landry; to her
  grandparents, Brenda Landry and Susan and Timothy Weaver; to her
  aunts and uncles, Stephanie and Will Landry, Katherine and David
  Andrew, and Jamie and Laura Weaver; to her cousins, Graham William
  and Hallie Lynn Landry, Cullen Lee, Sophia Elaine, and Wesley Gray
  Andrew, and Wynne Ruth Weaver; and to her other relatives and dear
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lainey Anne
  Landry.
