R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of William Franklin Hunt of Stockdale on June 24, 2025, at
  the age of 93; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Roy Edwin and Alma Hunt, Bill Hunt was
  born in Alice on May 29, 1932, and he grew up with the companionship
  of a brother, George; he graduated from William Adams High School,
  and he subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Army; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hunt met the love of his life, the former
  Shirley Whitley, while stationed in Charleston, West Virginia; the
  couple married on August 3, 1954, and they went on to share a
  fulfilling union that spanned 72 years; he took great pride in their
  four children, Billy, Brady, Lisa, and Margie, and with the passing
  years, he had the pleasure of seeing his treasured family grow to
  include a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Returning to civilian life, Mr. Hunt and his wife
  eventually made their home in Stockdale, where he served as a master
  of the Masonic Lodge, a patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and
  a trustee on the Stockdale Independent School District Board; he
  was also a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and active in the
  congregation at First Baptist Church of Stockdale; in his leisure
  hours, he enjoyed woodworking and spending time with loved ones;
  and
         WHEREAS, A thoughtful and hardworking man, Bill Hunt will be
  deeply missed, and those who held him dear will forever remember the
  warmth and kindness he brought into their lives; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of
  William Franklin Hunt and extend sincere condolences to the members
  of his family: to his wife, Shirley Hunt; to his children, W. F. Hunt
  Jr., Brady Hunt and his wife, Dawn, and Lisa Rozier and her husband,
  Charlie; to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to all
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bill Hunt.
