R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, The Summer Under the Stars Block Party & BBQ |
|
|
Cook-Off took place on August 8 and 9, 2025, at Poteet Canyon Park; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by Champions Barbecue Alliance as one of |
|
|
the organization's state championship cook-offs, this |
|
|
much-anticipated event featured highly skilled teams putting their |
|
|
culinary talents to the test as they vied to produce the tastiest |
|
|
entries in several different categories; the occasion combined |
|
|
friendly competition with good eating, and prizes were awarded to |
|
|
the top finishers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the |
|
|
Summer Under the Stars Block Party & BBQ Cook-Off offered everyone |
|
|
in attendance the opportunity to sample exceptional cuisine while |
|
|
enjoying a fun, family-oriented atmosphere; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the Summer |
|
|
Under the Stars Block Party & BBQ Cook-Off and extend to the |
|
|
organizers, contestants, and attendees sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future. |
