R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Killeen Heights is celebrating 40 |
|
|
years of service to the community in 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 1985, members of the Rotary Club of Killeen |
|
|
initiated the formation of a second Rotary chapter in their area, |
|
|
choosing the name Killeen Heights to represent the members' ties to |
|
|
both Killeen and Harker Heights; on July 27, the club formally |
|
|
received its charter, with a founding group of 34 business and |
|
|
professional leaders; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the past four decades, the Rotary Club of |
|
|
Killeen Heights has embodied the Rotary motto of "Service Above |
|
|
Self" through its efforts to better the lives of Central Texans in |
|
|
need; the club strives to advance Rotary International's key |
|
|
humanitarian priorities, which include peace and conflict |
|
|
resolution, disease prevention, maternal and child health, |
|
|
environmental conservation, and economic development, and every |
|
|
year, members undertake a well-rounded program of activities that |
|
|
make a meaningful impact both at home and abroad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Killeen Heights has long been a |
|
|
force for good in its community and beyond, and through their |
|
|
generosity and dedication to their organization's ideals, its |
|
|
members have set an outstanding example to which all may aspire; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor the Rotary Club of |
|
|
Killeen Heights on the occasion of its 40th anniversary in 2025 and |
|
|
extend to all those affiliated with the club sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in their important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
