R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of David Homer Guerra of McAllen, who passed away on
  August 17, 2025, at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, The son of James Homer and Nannie Louise Thompson
  Guerra, David Guerra was born in Laredo on September 19, 1944; he
  graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 1962 at Rio Grande City
  High School, and he went on to earn his juris doctor from St. Mary's
  University School of Law; and
         WHEREAS, In the course of a successful career as an attorney,
  Mr. Guerra became a partner in the firm now known as King, Guerra,
  Davis & Garcia, P.C., in Mission, and he distinguished himself in
  such legal specialties as real estate transactions, municipal
  issues, the oil and gas industry, estate administration, and loan
  closings for financial institutions; in addition, he served as city
  attorney of Mission for many years; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Guerra benefited from the
  love and support of his wife of 56 years, Rosa Maria; he took great
  pride in their children, Catherine, James, Elena, and John, and
  with the passing years, his treasured family grew to include seven
  grandchildren; in his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and keeping
  up with national and local politics; a man of strong faith, he was a
  devoted parishioner of Saint Paul Catholic Church and Our Lady of
  Sorrows Catholic Church, and he served as a Eucharistic minister,
  lector, and usher; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his
  community, David Guerra earned the lasting respect and admiration
  of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  David Homer Guerra and extend heartfelt condolences to the members
  of his family: to his wife, Rosa Maria Muñoz Guerra; to his
  children, Catherine Louise Guerra Bartolomucci and her husband,
  H. Christopher, James Hillary Guerra, Elena Imelda Guerra Davis and
  her husband, Peter, and John Frederick Guerra; to his
  grandchildren, Emma Catherine, Ava Rose, Anthony Barrett, and
  Antonella Siena Bartolomucci and Luke David, Liliana Imelda, and
  Liam James Davis; and to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David
  Guerra.
