R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss
  with the tragic passing of Ava Renee Moore on May 25, 2025, at the
  age of 18; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Tamara and Robert Moore, Ava Moore
  was born on September 14, 2006, and she grew up with the
  companionship of her brother, Robert; she graduated with the Class
  of 2024 from Timber Creek High School in Fort Worth, where she
  excelled academically and was captain of the basketball team as
  well as a member of the varsity golf team; and
         WHEREAS, At the time of her passing, Ms. Moore had just
  completed her first year at the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory
  School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and she was planning on
  reentering the academy as a cadet with the Class of 2029; moreover,
  she had continued her athletic career as a standout player on the
  prep school women's basketball team, helping the squad to compile
  an undefeated record; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Moore demonstrated a strong affinity for
  linguistics, gaining competency in Korean, and she was considering
  undertaking studies in Chinese; her many other interests included
  art, music, literature, and politics and foreign relations; witty,
  determined, and deeply curious about the world around her, she
  distinguished herself as an inspiring mentor to her peers and was
  known for her kindness and humility; in recognition of the positive
  influence she had on the Timber Creek High School community, the
  school is paying tribute to her memory on November 7, 2025, by
  retiring her jersey number and establishing a scholarship fund in
  her honor; and
         WHEREAS, No words can diminish the pain caused by a life cut
  short, but all who shared in the love and friendship of Ava Moore
  may find comfort in their treasured memories of this exceptional
  young woman; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Ava Renee Moore and extend deepest condolences to the members of
  her family: to her mother, Tamara Moore; to her father, Robert
  Moore; to her brother, Robert Moore; and to her other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That November 7, 2025, be recognized as Ava Moore
  Day; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ava Moore.
