R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby creates a general |
|
|
investigating committee on disaster response; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the committee be composed of five members of |
|
|
the house to be appointed by the speaker of the house of |
|
|
representatives and that the speaker shall also designate the chair |
|
|
and vice-chair of the committee; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the committee shall conduct all inquiries into |
|
|
the 2025 flooding disasters, including investigating: |
|
|
(1) factors contributing to the floods; |
|
|
(2) allocation of resources to and effectiveness of |
|
|
flood disaster preparedness and response; and |
|
|
(3) operations of and coordination between local, |
|
|
state, and federal governmental entities with regard to flood |
|
|
prevention, disaster preparedness, and response; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the committee is granted the investigatory |
|
|
powers of a general investigating committee under the house rules |
|
|
of procedure and Chapter 301, Government Code, and that the |
|
|
committee is granted all powers granted to committees by the house |
|
|
rules of procedure and Chapter 301, Government Code. |
