SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Judson Caldwell and to join Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf |
|
|
Coast and Louisiana and Caldwell Companies in celebrating the |
|
|
joyous occasion of his Wish Reveal Celebration on August 25, |
|
|
2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A spirited and bright young Texan, Judson |
|
|
Caldwell is 10 years old and lives in Humble with his parents, |
|
|
Hannah and Cameron Caldwell, and his brothers, Keaton, Isaac, and |
|
|
Nash; Judson has faced extraordinary medical challenges with |
|
|
remarkable courage, and he underwent his first heart surgery as a |
|
|
newborn; he has had three open-heart surgeries in the years |
|
|
since, and his resilience, optimism, and zest for life are a |
|
|
source of inspiration to his family, friends, and community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana was |
|
|
established in 1984 and is one of 58 chapters of the organization |
|
|
in the United States and its territories; the organization seeks |
|
|
to create life-changing experiences for children with critical |
|
|
illnesses, and its efforts serve to reaffirm the power of |
|
|
community in lifting spirits and inspiring hope; the chapter has |
|
|
granted more than 11,500 wishes to children in its service area |
|
|
and continues to bring joy and hope to children with critical |
|
|
illnesses through the dedication of its donors, staff, |
|
|
volunteers, and community partners; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, When given the opportunity to make a wish, Judson |
|
|
dreamed of swimming with dolphins in Hawaii; he was inspired by |
|
|
hearing about a friend's trip and fueled by his fascination with |
|
|
marine life, and he eagerly awaits the chance to meet dolphins |
|
|
face-to-face, learn more about them, and experience their |
|
|
playful nature firsthand; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judson's Wish Reveal Celebration marks the |
|
|
exciting moment when Judson will learn that his dream trip is |
|
|
less than two months away, and he and his family will have the |
|
|
opportunity to fulfill his wish to meet and swim with dolphins in |
|
|
Hawaii; thanks to the efforts, support, and generosity of |
|
|
Caldwell Companies and Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and |
|
|
Louisiana, Judson's wish is being granted, and his upcoming |
|
|
adventure will undoubtedly be a source of many treasured memories |
|
|
for him and his family; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Judson Caldwell on |
|
|
the occasion of his Wish Reveal Celebration, commend all who have |
|
|
contributed to making this special moment a reality, and extend |
|
|
to Judson and the Caldwell family best wishes for a memorable and |
|
|
rewarding experience on their Hawaiian adventure; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Judson and his family as a memento of this special occasion. |
