R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
memories of James Randall Rushing and Cynthia Cherise Rushing of |
|
Sulphur Springs, who were tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, |
|
flooding in Kerr County; and |
|
WHEREAS, J. R. Rushing was born in Winnsboro on January 6, |
|
1961, to James Harlton and Connie Fae Rushing, and he grew up with |
|
the companionship of three sisters, Sonya, Tonya, and Tamra; he was |
|
an employee at Flowserve, and he took pleasure in flying drones as a |
|
hobby and in volunteering his time as an umpire and referee at local |
|
softball and volleyball games; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on May 20, 1972, in Oxford, Mississippi, the |
|
former Cindy Nelson was the daughter of Arthur Martin Nelson and |
|
Memory Bowles Nelson, and her family also included her siblings, |
|
Jeremy and Rebecca; in addition to working for Alora Home Health |
|
Software, she was an avid reader and fan of science fiction films, |
|
and she channeled her creativity into making custom T-shirts and |
|
sewing; and |
|
WHEREAS, The couple shared a strong bond of love throughout |
|
their marriage; they were deeply devoted to their five children, |
|
Sarah, Joshua, Tamra, James, and Randi, and they also experienced |
|
the joy of welcoming nine grandchildren into the family; they |
|
delighted in spending time with their loved ones, and they were also |
|
fond of camping and taking trips in their recreational vehicle, |
|
creating many cherished memories along the way; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although the passing of J. R. and Cindy Rushing has |
|
brought great sadness to their family, their friends, and their |
|
community, they will forever hold a special place in the hearts of |
|
those they left behind; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Randall |
|
Rushing and Cynthia Cherise Rushing and extend deepest condolences |
|
to the members of their family: to their children, Sarah Jones and |
|
her husband, Steven, Joshua Kiestler, Tamra Blasius and her |
|
husband, Wade, James Evan Rushing and his wife, Nadiana, and Randi |
|
Bailey and her husband, Matthew; to their grandchildren, Brianna |
|
Lugo, Jayce Bailey, Carsen, Mara, Madilyn, Maegan, and Brooklyn |
|
Jones, and Able and Karter Blasius; to Mr. Rushing's mother, Connie |
|
Rushing; to his sisters, Sonya Adams and Tonya Renae Burton; to |
|
Mrs. Rushing's mother, Memory Nelson; to her siblings, Jeremy |
|
Nelson and Rebecca Nelson; and to the couple's other relatives and |
|
many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for their family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
this day, it do so in memory of J. R. and Cindy Rushing. |
