SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 24
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Cecil Rich Jr.
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Cecil W. Rich Jr. of Sulphur Springs on August 2, 2025,
  at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Cecil and Lucille Rich, Cecil Rich was
  born on November 19, 1939, and he grew up with the companionship
  of three siblings, Don, Debbie, and Alan; answering his nation's
  call to duty, he joined the U.S. Army, and over the course of his
  two-decade career, he completed two tours in Vietnam; his
  military honors included three Bronze Stars and an Air Medal; a
  true patriot, he was a proud member of the Hopkins County Marine
  Corps League; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rich shared many happy years with his wife,
  Ursula, before her passing, and he took great pride in their
  children, Jim, Mark, Mike, and Makaya; with the passage of time,
  he had the pleasure of welcoming into his family 6 grandchildren
  and 12 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family and his country,
  Cecil Rich earned the lasting respect and admiration of all who
  were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature,
  2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Cecil W.
  Rich Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his sons, Jim Rich and his wife, Ellen, Mark Rich and
  his wife, Christi, and Mike Rich and his wife, Robin; to his
  daughter, Makaya McKinney; to his grandchildren, Chris Rich and
  his wife, Jana, Tiffany Potter and her husband, Jeremy,
  Drew Rich, Stephanie VanCuren and her husband, Erik, Jennifer
  Beyer and her husband, Jodie, and April Rich; to his
  great-grandchildren, Hunter Rich, Joseph and Balin Durst, Hunter
  and Halee Potter, Aaron and Elisabeth VanCuren, Braidyn,
  Garrett, and Lillee Beyer, and Trayton and Talon McKinney; to his
  brother, Don Rich, and his wife, Beth; to his sister, Debbie
  Maxwell, and her husband, Dee; and to his many other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Cecil Rich.
