R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |
|
those saddened by the death of David Walker Raney of Texarkana on |
|
July 28, 2025, at the age of 77; and |
|
WHEREAS, David Raney was born in Texarkana on November 2, |
|
1947, to Marjorie and David Richard Raney; he owned his own |
|
business, David Raney Florist, and over the course of his career, he |
|
helped design and execute numerous special events for his |
|
customers; he also served as president of the Arkansas Florist |
|
Association in 2002; among his many achievements, he was inducted |
|
into the American Institute of Floral Designers; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Raney was the proud father of two sons, Colin |
|
and Richard, and over the years, he had the pleasure of welcoming |
|
into his family five grandchildren, Reagan, Ella, Jackson, Aidan, |
|
and Noah; and |
|
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured |
|
man's love and friendship will always remember him with great |
|
tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of David Walker Raney |
|
and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
children, Colin Raney and his wife, Eun Jin, and Richard Raney and |
|
his wife, Amanda; to his grandchildren, Reagan, Ella, Jackson, |
|
Aidan, and Noah Raney; to his brother, Charles Raney; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of David Raney. |
