SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Corine Pledger
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Corine Hendon Pledger of Texarkana on
  July 24, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Ben and Roberta Hendon, the former
  Corine Hendon was born in Warren, Arkansas, on
  February 23, 1945, and she grew up with the companionship of five
  siblings, Edith, Katherine, Calvin, Geri, and Chris; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she benefited from the love
  and support of her husband, Will Pledger, with whom she shared a
  fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly four decades; she took
  great pride in her three children, Cindy, Gary, and Kevin, and
  over the years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to
  include eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Pledger enjoyed a long and rewarding career
  in health care, and she worked as an emergency medical technician
  and certified nursing assistant; she was also a member of Liberty
  Ministries International; and
         WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of
  time will never diminish the joy and love that Corine Pledger
  brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Corine Hendon Pledger and extend heartfelt sympathy to the
  members of her family:  to her husband, William Pledger; to her
  children, Cindy Smith, Gary Goggans and his wife, Tricia, and
  Kevin Goggans and his wife, Cheri; to her sisters, Geri
  Whittington and Chris Swofford; to her grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Corine Pledger.
