Corine Pledger |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
|
passing of Corine Hendon Pledger of Texarkana on |
|
|
July 24, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Ben and Roberta Hendon, the former |
|
|
Corine Hendon was born in Warren, Arkansas, on |
|
|
February 23, 1945, and she grew up with the companionship of five |
|
|
siblings, Edith, Katherine, Calvin, Geri, and Chris; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she benefited from the love |
|
|
and support of her husband, Will Pledger, with whom she shared a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly four decades; she took |
|
|
great pride in her three children, Cindy, Gary, and Kevin, and |
|
|
over the years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to |
|
|
include eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pledger enjoyed a long and rewarding career |
|
|
in health care, and she worked as an emergency medical technician |
|
|
and certified nursing assistant; she was also a member of Liberty |
|
|
Ministries International; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|
|
time will never diminish the joy and love that Corine Pledger |
|
|
brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
|
of Corine Hendon Pledger and extend heartfelt sympathy to the |
|
|
members of her family: to her husband, William Pledger; to her |
|
|
children, Cindy Smith, Gary Goggans and his wife, Tricia, and |
|
|
Kevin Goggans and his wife, Cheri; to her sisters, Geri |
|
|
Whittington and Chris Swofford; to her grandchildren and |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Corine Pledger. |
