R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of Corine Hendon Pledger of Texarkana on July 24, 2025; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Ben and Roberta Hendon, the former |
|
Corine Hendon was born in Warren, Arkansas, on February 23, 1945, |
|
and she grew up with the companionship of five siblings, Edith, |
|
Katherine, Calvin, Geri, and Chris; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she benefited from the love |
|
and support of her husband, Will Pledger, with whom she shared a |
|
fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly four decades; she took |
|
great pride in her three children, Cindy, Gary, and Kevin, and over |
|
the years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include |
|
eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pledger enjoyed a long and rewarding career in |
|
health care, and she worked as an emergency medical technician and |
|
certified nursing assistant; she was also a member of Liberty |
|
Ministries International; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|
time will never diminish the joy and love that Corine Pledger |
|
brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Corine Hendon |
|
Pledger and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: |
|
to her husband, William Pledger; to her children, Cindy Smith, Gary |
|
Goggans and his wife, Tricia, and Kevin Goggans and his wife, Cheri; |
|
to her sisters, Geri Whittington and Chris Swofford; to her |
|
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives |
|
and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Corine Pledger. |
