R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Dee Lou Massey of Pickton on June 1, 2025, at the age of
  85; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Dewitt and Annie Thurman, the former
  Lucy Thurman was born in Pine Forest on November 24, 1939, and she
  grew up with the companionship of three siblings, Rosemary, Facie,
  and Bill; she wed Thomas Massey on June 24, 1957, and the couple
  went on to share a rewarding marriage that spanned 67 years; she
  took great pride in their four children, Tammy Lou, Tina, Tiger, and
  Kyna, and with the passing decades, she had the pleasure of
  welcoming seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren into
  her family; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of strong faith, Mrs. Massey was a valued
  member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, where she was
  involved with the Vacation Bible School and for nearly three
  decades served as the children's director and leader in the
  community Bible study; known for her vivacious personality, she
  brightened every room she entered and was always ready to lend a
  helping hand to those in need; above all else, she treasured the
  time she spent with her family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Although Lucy Massey is deeply missed, memories of
  her heartfelt compassion, her profound faith, and her steadfast
  devotion to her loved ones remain to comfort and inspire those she
  leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Dee Lou Massey and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Thomas Massey; to her children, Tina Massey Flora and her
  husband, Mike, Tiger Massey and his wife, Abigail, and Kyna Massey
  Saul and her husband, Tracy; to her grandchildren, Candace Evans
  and her husband, Andy, Colten Flora and his wife, Natasha, Corbin
  Flora and his wife, Summer, Megan Mullinnix and her husband,
  Jordan, Madeline Stephens and her husband, CJ, and Shelby and
  Cambry Saul; to her great-grandchildren, Miles, Ely, Dhealyn, and
  Dheatyn; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Lucy Massey.
