R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Charles Glen Patton of New Boston on
  July 31, 2025, at the age of 78; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Alford Patton and Anna Lou Rich, Charles
  Patton was born on April 20, 1947, in Sedalia, Missouri, and he grew
  up with the companionship of two brothers, John and James; he
  graduated as valedictorian of New Boston High School and went on to
  attend Texarkana College before earning his master's degree from
  East Texas State University; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of a rewarding career in education,
  Mr. Patton made a positive difference in the lives of countless
  students as a mathematics teacher; driven by his entrepreneurial
  spirit, he also pursued a number of business ventures; in addition,
  he sought opportunities to give back to his community; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Patton enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife of 48 years, Janet Patton; he was the proud
  father of their three children, Donavan, Annie, and Mitchell, and
  with the passing years, their cherished family grew to include
  three grandchildren, Olivia, Corley, and Beau, and a
  great-grandson, Leo; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by the values of hard work, gratitude, and
  civic responsibility, Charles Patton leaves behind a legacy that
  will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Charles Glen
  Patton and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family:
  to his wife, Janet Patton; to his children and their spouses,
  Donavan and Teresa Taylor, Annie Neal and Johnna Barfield, and
  Mitchell Patton; to his grandchildren, Olivia Miller and her
  husband, Reed, Corley Bec, and Beau Taylor; to his great-grandson,
  Leo Miller; to his brother, John Patton, and his wife, Virginia; and
  to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Charles Patton.
