Patricia Burks |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |
|
|
memories of Patricia Ann Burks of Longview, who passed away on |
|
|
July 30, 2025, at the age of 78; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of T. O. and Ada Marie Mahaffey, the |
|
|
former Pat Mahaffey was born in Longview on July 25, 1947; she |
|
|
grew up with the companionship of her brother, Bud, and she was a |
|
|
proud alumna of the Spring Hill Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She married the love of her life, David Burks, and |
|
|
the couple went on to share a fulfilling marriage that spanned 55 |
|
|
years before his passing in 2021; Mrs. Burks took great pride in |
|
|
their two daughters, Kimber and Mandy, and through the years, she |
|
|
delighted in watching her family grow to include three |
|
|
grandchildren, Zac, Spencer, and Jackson; her life was further |
|
|
enriched by her beloved dog, Boomer, and in her leisure time, she |
|
|
enjoyed reading and watching Western movies; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|
|
time will never diminish the joy and love that Pat Burks brought |
|
|
into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the |
|
|
memory of Patricia Ann Burks and extend sincere condolences to |
|
|
the members of her family: to her daughters, Kimber Lutz and |
|
|
her husband, Marcus, and Mandy Brint and her husband, Jeff; to |
|
|
her grandsons, Zachary Taylor Thompson and his wife, Victoria, |
|
|
Spencer Michael Thompson and his wife, Laura, and Jackson |
|
|
Marcus Lutz and his wife, Avery; to her brother, Bud Mahaffey, |
|
|
and his wife, Pam; and to her other relatives and friends; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Pat Burks. |
