R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, September 3, 2025, marks the 70th wedding |
|
anniversary of Gary Pat Hays and Barbara Hays, and this joyous event |
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their rewarding |
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hays were joined in matrimony in 1955 |
|
in Carrollton; through the years, they have been blessed with a |
|
treasured family that includes their four children, as well as |
|
their nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one |
|
great-great-grandchild; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his successful career, Mr. Hays |
|
was employed by Texas Instruments for nearly two decades, and he |
|
went on to hold leadership positions with Recognition Equipment, |
|
Inc., and Decibel Products before retiring from Classic Toyota; in |
|
addition to providing vital support to her family, Mrs. Hays has |
|
worked for Dairy Queen, Simms-Moore Lumber, Re/Max Real Estate |
|
Group, Burger King, and, most recently, Chicken Salad Chick; and |
|
WHEREAS, After spending many years in the Dallas area, the |
|
couple relocated to Tyler, where Mr. Hays pursues his interest in |
|
farming and raising cattle, as well as his hunting and fishing |
|
pastimes, and Mrs. Hays enjoys painting, bowling, and cooking; and |
|
WHEREAS, The seven decades of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Hays |
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd |
|
Called Session, hereby congratulate Gary Pat Hays and Barbara Hays |
|
on their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hays as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas Senate. |
