R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A life filled with meaningful achievements drew to a |
|
close with the passing of Debra Rene Clouatre of Gladewater on |
|
July 27, 2025, at the age of 71; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Mel and Joyce Duvall, the former |
|
Debra Duvall was born in Mamou, Louisiana, on July 14, 1954, and she |
|
grew up with the company of three siblings, Mike, Sherry, and Rick; |
|
after graduating from West Monroe High School, she earned her |
|
bachelor's degree in elementary and special education from |
|
Louisiana Tech University and her master's degree in the same |
|
disciplines from the University of Louisiana Monroe; she went on to |
|
complete a degree in education mid-management at Texas A&M |
|
University-Commerce; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1980, Mrs. Clouatre joined the Gladewater |
|
Independent School District as an elementary school counselor; over |
|
the course of her 26 years with the district, her kindness, |
|
enthusiasm, and encouragement made a positive difference in the |
|
lives of students and brightened the days of her colleagues; |
|
following her retirement in 2006, she became a consultant for |
|
Wireless Generation, providing training on educational software, |
|
and she later consulted for Tyler ISD; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Clouatre shared a fulfilling marriage of 41 |
|
years with her husband, Lionel, before his death in 2021; she was |
|
the devoted mother of two daughters, Jessica and Natalie, and she |
|
had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include two |
|
granddaughters, Rilee and Ivy; in her leisure time, she loved |
|
traveling, bird-watching, gardening, spending time with her |
|
friends, and caring for her treasured dog, Athena; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Debra Clouatre is deeply missed, memories |
|
of her warmth, generosity, and resilience remain to comfort and |
|
inspire those she leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Debra Rene |
|
Clouatre and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|
family: to her daughters, Jessica Kimbrell and Natalie Clouatre and |
|
her husband, Brandon; to her granddaughters, Rilee Bowden and Ivy |
|
Ebey; to her siblings, Sherry Meeks and her husband, Mike, and Rick |
|
Duvall and his wife, Heike; and to her other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Debra Clouatre. |
