SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize John Ross Campbell as an exemplary Texas citizen and on |
|
|
his five decades of service with H-E-B Grocery Company in Laredo; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong, beloved resident of Laredo, John |
|
|
Campbell embarked on his rewarding career at the H-E-B store on |
|
|
Guadalupe Street in 1975 while attending Raymond and Tirza Martin |
|
|
High School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, John quickly distinguished himself for his |
|
|
diligence and uncompromising work ethic, and over the last 50 |
|
|
years, he has fostered a welcoming and supportive environment for |
|
|
customers and colleagues that exemplifies the grocery chain's |
|
|
community-first spirit; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In his spare time, John has made a positive impact |
|
|
on his family and his community through his genealogy research; |
|
|
his influential work has been recognized by such notable |
|
|
institutions as the Webb County Heritage Foundation, the |
|
|
Hispanic Organization for Genealogy and Research in Dallas, and |
|
|
genealogical societies in Laredo and Zapata County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, John Campbell is an esteemed Texan and a |
|
|
treasured member of the H-E-B family, and he is truly deserving |
|
|
of recognition for half a century of service with the H-E-B |
|
|
Grocery Company and for his noteworthy achievements in advancing |
|
|
historical and genealogical research in South Texas; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize John Ross |
|
|
Campbell on his outstanding career with H-E-B and as a |
|
|
genealogist extraordinaire who is committed to preserving the |
|
|
state's storied heritage and extend to him best wishes in all his |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
