SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 77
         WHEREAS, Leia's Kids is hosting its inaugural gala at the
  Verona Villa in Frisco on September 4, 2025, providing a fitting
  opportunity to recognize the organization for its contributions
  to the community; and
 
         WHEREAS, Established by Leia T. Hunt, Leia's Kids is a
  nonprofit organization committed to supporting children and
  young adults who are facing pediatric cancer diagnoses; and for
  that purpose, the group eases the burden of medical costs through
  financial grants, hosts dream parties, organizes retreats to
  foster emotional well-being, raises awareness about childhood
  cancer, and provides other resources to affected families; and
 
         WHEREAS, This year's gala is being presented with the theme
  "Hope in the Kingdom: A Royal Ball"; the event will feature a
  silent auction, an awards ceremony, and inspirational stories
  from young people who are battling pediatric cancer; and
 
         WHEREAS, Leia's Kids has been a source of compassionate aid
  to countless young Texans going through a difficult and uncertain
  journey, and all those taking part in its inaugural gala are to be
  commended for their efforts to uplift the organization's
  important cause; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Leia's Kids on the
  occasion of its inaugural gala and extend to all sincere best
  wishes for a meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard
  from the Texas Senate.
