SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 81
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Metrocare is celebrating the opening of its new |
|
|
Hillside Campus in Oak Cliff with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on |
|
|
September 25, 2025; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1967 as Dallas County MHMR, |
|
|
Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health, |
|
|
developmental disability, and permanent supported housing |
|
|
services in Dallas County, assisting more than 50,000 children, |
|
|
teens, and adults each year regardless of their ability to pay; |
|
|
Metrocare offers a wide range of services, from mental health and |
|
|
primary care to accessible pharmacies, homeless outreach, and |
|
|
specialized services for veterans and their families, and it also |
|
|
provides numerous programs for babies, children, and adults with |
|
|
disabilities, such as Early Childhood Intervention and Supported |
|
|
Employment; and |

|
WHEREAS, With the new Mental Health and Disability |
|
|
Innovation Center at Hillside Campus, Metrocare is expanding its |
|
|
capacity to serve the community in order to meet the growing need |
|
|
for accessible, quality mental health care; the campus will |
|
|
encompass a 45,000-square-foot Mental Health Clinic that will |
|
|
offer integrated, evidence-based care to patients, as well as a |
|
|
98,000-square-foot Client Services Building that will |
|
|
consolidate Metrocare's countywide operations, including |
|
|
training and research; in addition, the campus will feature |
|
|
bright, open spaces for clinical services, outdoor therapy areas |
|
|
for children, a tranquility garden, and an outdoor terrace; and |

|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, Metrocare has earned a reputation |
|
|
as a leading mental health care provider in North Texas, and the |
|
|
new Hillside Campus is certain to be an invaluable resource to |
|
|
the community; now, therefore, be it |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the grand |
|
|
opening of Metrocare's Hillside Campus and extend sincere |
|
|
appreciation to all those involved in bringing this project to |
|
|
fruition; and, be it further |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Metrocare as an expression of high regard from the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
