R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Metrocare is celebrating the opening of its new |
|
|
Hillside Campus in Oak Cliff with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on |
|
|
September 25, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1967 as Dallas County MHMR, Metrocare |
|
|
is the largest provider of mental health, developmental disability, |
|
|
and permanent supported housing services in Dallas County, |
|
|
assisting more than 50,000 children, teens, and adults each year |
|
|
regardless of their ability to pay; Metrocare offers a wide range of |
|
|
services, from mental health and primary care to accessible |
|
|
pharmacies, homeless outreach, and specialized services for |
|
|
veterans and their families, and it also provides numerous programs |
|
|
for babies, children, and adults with disabilities, such as Early |
|
|
Childhood Intervention and Supported Employment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With the new Mental Health and Disability Innovation |
|
|
Center at Hillside Campus, Metrocare is expanding its capacity to |
|
|
serve the community in order to meet the growing need for |
|
|
accessible, quality mental health care; the campus will encompass a |
|
|
45,000-square-foot Mental Health Clinic that will offer |
|
|
integrated, evidence-based care to patients, as well as a |
|
|
98,000-square-foot Client Services Building that will consolidate |
|
|
Metrocare's countywide operations, including training and |
|
|
research; in addition, the campus will feature bright, open spaces |
|
|
for clinical services, outdoor therapy areas for children, a |
|
|
tranquility garden, and an outdoor terrace; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, Metrocare has earned a reputation as |
|
|
a leading mental health care provider in North Texas, and the new |
|
|
Hillside Campus is certain to be an invaluable resource to the |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd |
|
|
Called Session, hereby commemorate the grand opening of Metrocare's |
|
|
Hillside Campus and extend sincere appreciation to all those |
|
|
involved in bringing this project to fruition; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Metrocare as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
