Amend HB 229 (house committee report) on third reading by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering the SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION ____.  The changes in law made by this Act may not be construed to permit discrimination on the basis of an individual's gender identity, including an individual's identity as an individual who is transgender, nonbinary, or intersex.
