Amend HB 2730 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  On page 2, line 9, strike "and".

(2)  On page 2, between lines 9 and 10, insert the following:

(2)  has attempted to determine whether the person still qualifies for the exemption, which may include searching the driver's license database maintained by the Department of Public Safety; and

(3)  On page 2, line 10, strike "(2)" and substitute "(3)".

(4)  On page 2, line 21, strike "This Act takes effect September 1, 2025." and substitute "This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2025.".
