Amend HB 2798 (house committee report) as follows:

(1)  On page 1, lines 17 through 19, strike "an electronic terminal operated by a virtual currency kiosk operator in this state" and substitute "an electronic terminal in this state operated by a virtual currency kiosk operator".

(2)  On page 2, line 9, between "purchase" and "currency", insert "virtual".

(3)  On page 6, line 21, between "amount" and "of", insert "in fiat currency that is equal to the value of the amount".

(4)  On page 7, between lines 21 and 22, add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumber subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION ____.  A virtual currency kiosk operator is not required to comply with Chapter 161, Finance Code, as added by this Act, until September 1, 2026.
