Amend HB 3629 (house committee report) by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
SECTION ____. Section 11.055, Education Code, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) An application for a place on the ballot as a candidate for a position on the board of trustees of a school district must include a statement that the candidate is aware that a person is not eligible to serve as a trustee of an independent school district if the person is required to register as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure.
