Amend CSSB 17 (house committee report) on page 3, between lines 19 and 20, by inserting the following:
Sec. 5.2511. CERTAIN VISA HOLDERS CONSIDERED DOMICILED IN UNITED STATES. For purposes of the application of this subchapter only, and in addition to the criteria provided by Section 5.251(4) for determining domicile, an individual is considered domiciled in the United States if the individual:
(1) holds a valid visa issued by the federal government; and
(2) has been legally present and continuously residing in this state for one year.
