Amend SB 914 on third reading in the SECTION of the bill amending Section 41.0052, Election Code, as follows:
(1) In the recital to the SECTION strike "Subsections (f) and (g)" and substitute "Subsections (f), (g), and (h)".
(2) Immediately following added Section 41.0052(g), Election Code, insert the following:
(h) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a municipality on the Texas-Mexico border with a population of more than 85,000 that hosts the annual Texas Citrus Fiesta and holds its general election for officers on a date other than the November uniform election date may change the date on which it holds its general election for officers to the November uniform election date. A municipality described by this subsection that changes the date of its election under this subsection may not change the date on which it holds its general election for officers to a date other than the November uniform election date.
