Section ____ of SB 1362 is amended to add the following:

SECTION ____.  Establish a Legislative Study Committee of Firearm Risk Interventions: Upon enactment of this legislation, the Texas House shall establish a select committee during the interim immediately following the enactment of this legislation to examine evidence-based policies—including ERPOs—that prevent gun violence while protecting due process and Second Amendment rights. The committee shall consist of 5 members appointed by the speaker of the Texas House and 5 members appointed by the speaker of the Texas House that appear on a list of names provided to him by the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus.
