Amend SB 2155 (senate committee report), as follows:
(1) In the recital to SECTION 1 of the bill (page 1, lines 24 and 25), strike "to add Subsection (6-b)" and substitute "by adding Subdivisions (6-b) and (6-c)".
(2) In SECTION 1 of the bill, immediately following added Section 801.002(6-b), Occupations Code (page 1, between lines 29 and 30), insert the following:
(6-c) "Management services organization" means a business entity that provides management services to a veterinary medical facility, as defined by board rule.
(3) In SECTION 15 of the bill, in added Section 801.165, Occupations Code (page 4, line 1), between the underlined comma and "the", insert "if the board finds that the license holder has committed an act that is grounds for license denial or disciplinary action under Section 801.402,".
(4) In SECTION 15 of the bill, immediately following added Section 801.165(b), Occupations Code (page 4, between lines 9 and 10), insert the following:
(c) This section does not grant the board jurisdiction over a complaint based solely on the cost of a veterinary service.
(5) In SECTION 18 of the bill, in amended Section 801.2051, Occupations Code (page 4, lines 37 through 39), strike "[The board shall prioritize complaints to resolve the more serious complaints first.]" and substitute "The board shall prioritize complaints regarding persons engaged in the practice of veterinary medicine without a license [to resolve the more serious complaints first].".
(6) In SECTION 38 of the bill, in added Section 801.601(a), Occupations Code (page 9, line 62), between "medicine" and "shall", insert ", including veterinary medicine practiced remotely by electronic means,".
(7) In SECTION 38 of the bill, in added Section 801.601(c)(2), Occupations Code (page 10, line 9), between "current" and "resources", insert "board".
(8) In SECTION 38 of the bill, in added Section 801.602(b)(1), Occupations Code (page 10, line 23), between "entity" and "as", insert ", including a management services organization that contracts with the facility,".
(9) In SECTION 38 of the bill, in added Section 801.603, Occupations Code (page 10, line 45), between the underlined period and "The", insert "(a)".
(10) In SECTION 38 of the bill, immediately following added Section 801.603, Occupations Code (page 10, between lines 55 and 56), insert the following:
(b) Rules adopted under Subsection (a) must distinguish between categories of veterinary facilities, including mobile facilities that are not affiliated with another registered veterinary facility, to ensure that appropriate standards are established for each category of facility.
(11) In SECTION 38 of the bill, in added Section 801.604, Occupations Code (page 10, line 58), between "facility" and "shall", insert ", or a management services organization that provides services to a veterinary medical facility,".
(12) Renumber the SECTIONS of the bill accordingly.
