Amend SB 2217 (house committee report) by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
SECTION ____. Subchapter A, Chapter 65, Election Code, is amended by adding Section 65.0105 to read as follows:
Sec. 65.0105. CERTAIN COUNTING PROCEDURES PROHIBITED. The number of votes cast for a candidate may not be determined using a method of counting that reassigns votes to candidates based on a voter's ranking of each candidate through a numerical designation from the candidate the voter favors most to the candidate the voter favors least.
