Amend SB 2312 (house committee report) in SECTION 1 of the bill, immediately following added Section 438.206, Government Code, by inserting the following:
Sec. 438.2065. STUDY ON IMPACT OF RETALIATORY TARIFFS AND TRADE WARS ON TEXAS ECONOMY. (a) The advisory committee shall study the impact on the Texas economy of retaliatory tariffs imposed and trade wars commenced on or after February 1, 2025, by the United States related to the imports of one or more foreign nations or by foreign nations on the exports of the United States.
(b) After conducting the study under Subsection (a), the advisory committee shall produce and submit a report of the committee's findings to the governor not later than May 29, 2026.
