AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
C.S.H.B. 3307 amends current law relating to the continuing education required in order for a person to renew the person's agreement with the comptroller of public accounts to serve as an arbitrator in an appeal through binding arbitration of an appraisal review board order determining a protest.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Amends Section 41A.061(b), Tax Code, to require a person, to renew the person's agreement to serve as an arbitrator, to take certain actions, including completing, during the preceding two years, at least eight hours of continuing education in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution procedures offered by certain entities or approved for continuing legal education, and to make nonsubstantive changes.
SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2026.
