AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Under current state law, the judge of the 43rd Judicial District is automatically designated as the chairman of the juvenile board of Parker County. H.B. 5667 seeks to change this provision in the Human Resources Code to allow the Parker County Juvenile Board members to elect one of its members as chairman.
H.B. 5667 amends current law relating to the chairman of the juvenile board of Parker County.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Amends Section 152.1901(b), Human Resources Code, as follows:
(b)� Requires the juvenile board to elect one of its members as chairman. Deletes existing text providing that the judge of the 43rd Judicial District is the chairman of the juvenile board.
SECTION 2.� Effective date: September 1, 2025.
