A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the execution of a warrant issued for certain releasees |
|
who violate a condition of parole or mandatory supervision related |
|
to the electronic monitoring of the releasee. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF |
|
SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency |
|
shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to |
|
the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the |
|
super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a |
|
condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the |
|
electronic monitoring of the releasee. |
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date |
|
of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective |
|
date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the |
|
warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for |
|
that purpose. |

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
