A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the payment of a fee for the administration of a special |
|
|
education or bilingual education certificate examination. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 21.04892 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 21.04892. FEES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION OR BILINGUAL |
|
|
EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS. For each person who takes an |
|
|
examination prescribed under Section 21.048 for certification to |
|
|
teach in special education or bilingual education, including |
|
|
certification under Section 21.04891, the board shall, as |
|
|
applicable: |
|
|
(1) waive any fee assessed by the board for the |
|
|
administration of the examination; and |
|
|
(2) pay on behalf of the person to the vendor who |
|
|
administers the examination any fee assessed by the vendor to the |
|
|
person for the administration of the examination. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
