A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the reimbursement of fees associated with the issuance |
|
|
of a special education certificate for certain teachers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 21.04894 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 21.04894. REIMBURSEMENT FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION |
|
|
CERTIFICATION. The board shall reimburse a person for all fees |
|
|
associated with the issuance of a certificate to teach in special |
|
|
education, including any fee assessed by the board for the |
|
|
administration of an examination prescribed under Section 21.048, |
|
|
if the person is awarded the certificate not later than the second |
|
|
anniversary of entering an educator preparation program. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
